Well, we are human, and mental health issues belong to us, so it’s not a weird thing to talk about.

Now, even countries that used to think mental health was alien talk are a bit aware and acknowledging that it’s something serious, and we need to acknowledge that.

I mean, awareness… awareness took a little head-up.

Disclaimer: The title does not discourage therapy; in fact, one should ask for help if needed. Mental health is not a “one-line definition” that could be boxed up into a single cause. Mental health encompasses thousands of causes, so it varies in extent, pattern, and other factors. So this post focused on an aspect of mental health that can be improved by doing certain things, and that is just due to personal or behavioural changes.

Let’s walk through those five little things that have a bigger impact.

1. Do something that you love

I improve my mental health by doing stuff I love. If it helps me, definitely, it can help many of you.

If you ever feel drained, demotivated, or emotionally tired, do something you love instead of staying in low energy.

Let’s say I do paintings, writing, or journaling. And sometimes read books.

You might love listening to songs, preparing food for yourself, or going for a walk.

2. Meditation is a free therapy at home

Meditation is something you can do without any assistance or advice. You actually don’t need a therapist. Go… learn some good meditation techniques on YouTube and practice them.

Add meditation to your daily life. It has all the good benefits.

Sometimes your mental health is affected due to the noise inside your head that comes from life's chaos.

We live in a social media world, so there is noise all around. You intentionally or unintentionally filled your mind with unwanted noise.

Meditation helps you calm down, and your brain can finally relax.

Your brain needs to be treated kindly, but we actually don’t do it and then complain about frustration, anxiety, and mental health issues.

Be kind to your brain, soul, and body, and meditation is one of the ways to do it.

3. Self-care is a small gesture to pamper yourself.

Small things have a big impact.

When I feel drained, demotivated, and emotionally tired, I do a little self-care.

Not expensive. No for hours.

Just simple. And small.

I cleanse my face. Groom myself. Take a bath. Apply serum and moisturizers.

And boom. I became totally fresh. And new energy takes its place.

Sometimes, due to exhaustion from work, daily life tasks, and personal life challenges, you forget to take care of yourself. And a little self-care can be like an energy booster.

Your mind and your body need you. It demands care, love, and kindness.

4. You’re not depressed; your sleep is affected

Sometimes you’re not depressed. You are tired. You need to fix your sleep.

A deep sleep is important not only for the mind but also for the body and soul.

If you haven’t taken a good nap. You can’t be productive at work. And your efficiency at work will be compromised.

Sometimes you are anxious and depressed just because your sleep is affected.

You take a good nap. Your whole day will be better. That ultimately will improve your mental health.

5. Talk to Allah/your spiritual connection is broken

Sometimes there is no known reason for depression, but you feel irritated, overwhelmed, and rushed.

It’s not about the brain; it’s about your spiritual self. Sometimes your spiritual connection with your God is broken.

And we neglect this connection the most, while it is the main thing one should pay attention to. Life can’t be happy without God. If your connection is broken with God. Build it. Make it better. Your whole life will be better.

Wrapping up with a final note (you must read it).

Sometimes you don’t need a therapist. And your mental health issues are not about traumas; they’re from exhaustion, anxiety, and overthinking.

Your pattern is broken. By fixing your pattern and making a few modifications in your lifestyle, you can make a big impact.

In the hustle and bustle of life, sometimes we neglect our inner peace and don’t even realize that every human needs to be pampered, and we need this from the outside. While you can pamper yourself on your own, because your happiness is your responsibility, not others’.

Nobody can fix your pattern, behavioral, and internal breakdown the way you can.

Be happy.
