Why do people waste their time like this?

Credit to Negative Comments: How and Why You Should Respond
The one thing that came to mind today, was why people on social media feel the need to leave negative comments online for the random people they messsaged or left behind to see. This topic stemmed from the Dallas Cheerleaders documentary that a family member of mine was watching, and I was shocked to hear that one of these popular cheerleaders receives negative comments from people through her social media.
This pissed me off, because I don’t understand why people are like this, when it comes to random people who get a bit of fame, and they feel the need to send messed up messages to these complete strangers.
There are several reasons for why people do this, but jeez, it’s so stupid and a complete waste of time.
- These people are most likely losers who are taking it out on people online, because they are very jealous of what other people have. In reality, they are probably going through something, but they should not choose to bully people online to cope with their life.
- They don’t live in reality. This is definitely the scariest part, because to me, some of these people are capable of so much more, to the point that it could be dangerous for themselves, or for other people.
- Some people are just assholes, and cherish attempting to ruin someone’s day.
I myself have gotten negative comments from TikTok for example, and it baffles me what strangers send to people like me, who is also a complete stranger. While I don’t take any of these personal comments to heart for shit, because I’m aware that these people most likely are dicks behind the scenes, there are some people that are possibly in a vulnerable state, who don’t deserve to see shit like this.
Sometimes some individuals are experiencing something personal in their lives, and if they see stuff like this being sent to them, it can ruin their day, or make them second guess themselves.
While social media is good for some things, I feel that it should be illegal for people to send awful stuff ike this. I’m all for free speech, but if you’re going to send something super messed up to a total stranger, these kind of accounts should be banned for life. I feel that is the perfect punishment for online assholes, as a way for them to learn their lesson that if you are out to ruin someone’s day or act like a dick, then you should be removed from social media all together.
If you are someone who takes all online comments to heart, please don’t listen to them.
Remember, these are people who are possibly either jealous of your success, or they are wanting to send you awful messages to get under your skin.
Trust me, I’ve gotten a lot of negative stuff from TikTok and YouTube, but to me, the fact that these people would rather try to piss me off online, instead of telling it to my face, already tells me what kind of people they truly are.
They are cowards at heart, who are determined to ruin anyone’s day, so that they can feel good about themselves.
You are the successful one, and no one can ever change your mind about that.
Thank you for reading!
