FEEL THE CLOSENESS OF JESUS

“God is the one who satisfies the passion for justice, the longing for spirituality, the hunger for relationship, the yearning for beauty. And God, the true God, is the God we see in Jesus of Nazareth, Israel’s Messiah, the world’s true Lord.” (N. T. Wright)

Through this article, dear reader. You discover the love and the power behind the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is by reading the Holy gospels. That you learn the teachings of Jesus. It is by reading Jesus’ holy words. That you learn His lessons and apply them to your life. For each lesson is a blessing. Which helps you to grow. For each lesson from Jesus. It is a gift of love. When you apply Jesus’ lessons to your life. As well as sharing His lessons with others. It is like planting a seed into good soil. And nourishing them with Godly love. Your life of righteousness grows and strengthens before Almighty God, daily.

Scripture Reading:

“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop — a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (Matthew 13:3–8, NIV)

Reflection. Read the Holy Gospels. Learn the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Word of God. It is the written Word of Almighty God. It speaks of Jesus in both the New and the Old Testaments. The Holy Gospels. They speak of Jesus Christ and His mission on the earth. Jesus is God the Son. God is love. As you sit at His feet. You are wrapped and are comforted in the love of God.

Jesus radiates pure and sweet love. As you sit near to Him. Jesus Christ the beloved Son of God. Christ the much-awaited Messiah. Jesus Christ your Lord, your Saviour, your God. As you sit near to Jesus, you are comforted. In the loving closeness of Jesus, you are at such peace. Simply by being nearby to Jesus. Yes, you sit at the feet of Jesus, your LORD.

Jesus, God the Son. Jesus the Prince of Peace. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, NIV) As you sit at the feet of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. There is oh! so, something peaceful and comforting in Him. The beloved Son of God sits near to you. The Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus, God the Son. Your Lord and your teacher. Sits close by to you. In your times of sadness. In your moments of heartache. In your days of heart wrenching loneliness. You turn to Jesus, the Prince of Peace in prayer. Jesus will grant your heart the peace it seeks.

Scripture Readings:

“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.” (Luke 1:32, NIV)

“You call Me” ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I AM.” (John13:13, NIV)

“The people were amazed at His teaching, because He taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.” (Mark 1:22, NIV)

You are demanded by Jesus to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

As a true and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. You see the sadness and the darkness in this world. You want to let the world feel Jesus’ love. You want all the world to sit at the feet of Jesus your Lord. The salvation of Jesus, you need the world to lovingly accept. “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15, NIV)

For me, I would love to travel back two thousand years.

If you had the chance? Would you travel back in time? Just to sit at the feet of your Lord and listen. To actually be there as Jesus was among the very young children. When He blessed and loved each one. As your Lord sat with His beloved disciples. And taught His lessons of love, of healing and of comfort. To sit at the feet of Jesus and be bathed in His love and His everlasting peace. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15, NIV)

Jesus demands of you, as His beloved and chosen disciple, “proclaim the gospel.”

It is such a blessing. To be able to proclaim the ‘good news’ of the Kingdom of God. “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15–16, ESV) And so, you shall. Your love for Jesus is true and needs to be shared with others. You see the sadness and the loneliness in the eyes of those around you. You believe with all your heart. Jesus’ love and His salvation is the answer to their needs. With the strength of God the Holy Spirit you proclaim the ‘good news’ of the Kingdom of God. To the sad and the lonely people.

It will not always be easy. For many will not listen. Many will out right reject your words. Some will be hostile to you and openly mock and ridicule you. But take heart dear reader. Jesus Christ also underwent all this.

As a chosen and beloved disciple of your Lord, Jesus Christ. It is your duty to show His love to all those you meet. “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.” (2 Corinthians 2:14, ESV)

What a glorious and musical phrase, “fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.” In your open heart, this is to you. It is what the Gospel of the Kingdom of God surely is. For the Kingdom of God is the dwelling place of Almighty God, Himself. It is a place filled to overflowing with God’s love and His glory and His majesty.

As you spread the ‘good news’ about the Kingdom of God to those around you. You are blessed and loved by Almighty God. As you proclaim this message of redemption and the forgiveness of sins. This daily service to the Almighty One brings to your heart a gentle joy and such peace. “This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10, NIV) Quietly and kindly speak of God’s Kingdom. Inviting others to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn from Him. Allow God her Father to welcome her HOME. “For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.” (1 John 3:11, ESV)

Parable of the Samaritan woman at the well.

Read in the Holy gospels. About the parable of the Samaritan woman at the well. Picture Jesus sitting at the well with the woman from Samaria. Jesus speaking softly. His words of love, shared with kindness and compassion. The local village shunned her. The lateness of the day, in which she needed to draw water from the well indicated her isolation. Jesus loved and treated her with respect and dignity. This is how you treat each and every person, God places before you. The blessed story of Jesus softly speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well is found in John Chapter 4.

You as a chosen, and a beloved disciple. Follow His perfect example. You love tenderly and with whole-hearted compassion each person you meet. “And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as He has commanded us.” (1 John 1:23, ESV)

Conclusion. Jesus, God the Son. Christ the Much-Awaited Messiah. In the loving closeness of Jesus, you are at such peace.
