How beautiful is a sea of gold from the aspens in Colorado!

. . . but nothing can match the variegated coloration of Fall foliage in New England landscapes!

We humans have worked hard to break away from the herd mentality

  • over eons of time and in many lifetimes - to become individually independent.

We are proud of the uniquely-individual person we have become. . . and rightly so!

But in this new paradigm of ‘groupness’ we are asked to relinquish that extreme individuation for the ‘good of the whole’.

That is a difficult thing to do because we are afraid we will lose our uniqueness and blend into the herd mentality once again.

Of course we do not want that — nor can that even happen because of the individuality we have already achieved —

but we do need now to learn to blend that uniqueness into a palette of oneness with all other uniquely-individual personalities.

No artistic masterpiece can be created without the blending of a palette of colors

. . . nor a symphony created without the blending of notes, melodies and rhythms

. . . nor a culinary delight without the blending of the right ingredients. . . and even the secret ingredient!

. . . And most importantly to us writers: The choice and blending of the right words!

When a group meets to solve a specific problem:

If every person is certain of being the only one with the right viewpoint, no solution will be forthcoming.

But if they all agree to disagree respectfully, a solution is possible . . . for, as they say, two minds are better than one

— and a fresh perspective from ‘the other’ just might be what is needed for clarity of a solution.

Let us look at what Nature tells us:

A rainbow is a ‘One’ that is made up of many variegated colors.

The colors are individual and unique — and they will never lose that uniqueness by blending into the ‘One’. . .

Each one only ADDS to the beauty of the ‘One’!

Thank you for reading this little reminder of the importance of blending.
