The Netherlands has had a pretty serious open access agenda since for 6 years now.
Last week, we talked about their leadership in pushing the countries who are members of the European Commission to align to an agenda for open access to all European publications by 2020.
Now, a week ago, the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) also announced an agreement with De Gruyter to enable all their researchers to publish in Open Access.
Since 2009, Dutch universities have been on this path of stimulating Open Access via institutional repositories and agreements with publishers. Their first early agreement came in 2010 and was concluded with Springer.
