True Power Is a Language We Must Learn

Are power and wealth synonymous?
You wouldn’t be mistaken to see them as architects of a building’s foundation — one builds, the other anchors, with land and material things the bedrock of control.
Perhaps that is the definition of power most of us recognise—it is easier to give attention to what we can measure and touch.
But what if we considered power as not built on control but on connection? What if power, like communication, revolves around trust—one informing the other, bound like bricks and mortar?
When communication falters, those who try to lead often fall back on power wrapped in control—that type of power inevitably meets resistance. Even if it succeeds, it never lasts.
True power lies not in our ability to command, but rather our ability to connect and effect, and so perhaps power is not something we wield but a language we must learn.
