A lot has been happening around BZE lately, even if not all of it was visible from the outside. This period brought progress on the upcoming v8.1.0 blockchain upgrade, important security work, and new steps forward for **CoinTrunk** as part of the wider BZE ecosystem.

Some planned roadmap items moved slower than expected, but that came with good reason. The work done during this cycle helps build a stronger base for what comes next and opens the door for new utility across the network.

BZE Blockchain v8.1.0

One of the main highlights of this update is the upcoming BZE Blockchain v8.1.0 upgrade. This release is focused on making the network more flexible, more efficient, and easier to build on, while also improving the overall foundation of the chain for future growth.

The biggest change is that tokens with liquidity paired against BZE will be able to do more than just cover normal transaction fees. With v8.1.0, they can also be used for other blockchain fees across the ecosystem, including things like market-related fees, creation fees, and other custom costs. This opens the door for projects building on BZE to offer access to their tools and services using their own token, which lowers friction for new users and makes the whole experience more accessible.

Beyond that, the upgrade also improves how fees, rewards, and liquidity-related operations are handled across the blockchain. It brings a stronger structure to core network processes, better precision in key areas, updated infrastructure and dependencies, and a more robust framework for supporting future expansion. Altogether, v8.1.0 is not just a technical update — it is an important step toward making BZE a more practical and developer-friendly blockchain.

The upgrade is currently in testing, with the new version already going through final validation before release. If everything continues as expected, v8.1.0 should be deployed on testnet during the following week, and shortly after on mainnet.

Security Audit

Another important focus during this period was the security audit. While it did slow down some of the roadmap items that were originally planned for this stage, it was a necessary step toward making the **BZE** blockchain more secure, more stable, and more prepared for long-term growth.

The audit also came with costs of several thousand dollars, making it one of the more meaningful investments in this phase of development. To recognize the support that helped make this possible, 10 million BZE from the community pool will be allocated as a reward to the sponsor who covered these costs. Under the agreement, those tokens will be staked for the agreed period, helping align that support with the long-term health of the network.

CoinTrunk Update

Work has also already started on a basic payment processor for BZE blockchain coins and tokens, a direction that is now reflected in the public roadmap. This is an important step in turning CoinTrunk into a more practical utility layer, with solutions that can connect blockchain use cases to real services and everyday access.

As an early real-world example of that direction, a small Web2 online business launched by Stefan’s company, is expected to become the first merchant to accept BZE as payment for its services. It is a small but meaningful starting point that makes this utility directly accessible to the BZE community and holders.

CoinTrunk Mobile App

At the same time, an important change was made regarding the CoinTrunk mobile app. Following its delisting from the Android app store due to administrative issues related to the developer account, work on the app has been stopped and mobile development under CoinTrunk is now postponed for an indefinite period.

That said, the wallet direction inside the ecosystem continues through **Vidulum, a project built on the BZE blockchain. Behind the Scenes

Another part of this cycle also went into launching a new testnet environment, an important step for ongoing development and validation.
