THEY CUT THEMSELVES OFF By Bishop Dr. Julius Kwedhi

Matthew 27:42-43 (AMP) "He saved others [from death]; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him and acknowledge Him. [43] HE TRUSTS IN GOD; LET GOD RESCUE Him now, IF HE DELIGHTS IN HIM; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

And with that, sadly, they sealed their condemnation, for they, foolishly, and presumptuously set the terms and conditions of their salvation. But Christ was not to come down from the Cross alive, for that is not in accordance with the plan of GOD's redemption and restoration of worship in mankind.

Christ's death on the Cross of Calvary, His not coming down to liberate Himself as well as to appease the doubts and double-mindedness of shortsighted mankind, in no way disqualifies

1. His Kingship over Israel,
2. His Sovereignty,
3. His power to save Himself,
4. His power to save them and the rest of mankind,
5. His trust in GOD's salvation,
6. GOD's miraculous rescue of Christ and mankind,
7. His Sonship to GOD,

On the contrary His death on the Cross confirms all of the above.

Moreover, those that mocked Him, His mockers, His critics, by opening their mouths too soon too wide, they inadvertently cut themselves off from salvation.

What blasphemy! Did they really think their mockery is without real eternal consequences? Can you really taunt GOD and walk away with it? Only in the wildest dreams of their imaginations. Yet words and actions have real consequences either for life and salvation or for death and condemnation.

You can be sure that as for these mockers no place was ever found for them in the Glorious Kingdom of my GOD!
