The Knock — A Short Horror Script
The Knock — A Short Horror Script

Sometimes fear doesn’t come from what’s outside the door… but from what’s already inside. Here’s a short horror script that plays with silence, suspense, and the unknown.
INT. APARTMENT — NIGHT
Anna sits alone, scrolling on her phone. The clock ticks loudly. A sudden knock echoes at the door.
ANNA
(whispering)
Who’s there…?
No reply. Just silence. Then another, louder knock.
Anna peers through the peephole. The hallway is empty.
ANNA
(to herself)
Great. Just great.
She returns to the couch. The ticking clock grows louder, almost oppressive. She sips her tea.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
Anna jumps, spilling tea. She rushes to the door again — peephole still empty.
ANNA
(angry, shouting)
Who’s there?!
Silence. Then, faintly, a WHISPER through the door:
VOICE (O.S.)
Anna… let me in.
Her eyes widen. She didn’t give her name. She stumbles back. The lights flicker.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
This time, from inside the apartment. Behind her.
Anna turns slowly. The camera follows her gaze to the closet door, slightly ajar. A pale hand pushes it open.
FADE OUT.
