From the Co-Chair’s Desk: Welcome to ZYNA Insider!

Hey ZYNA community!

I’m Anaheez Karbhari, your ZYNA Co-Chair, and I’m so excited to welcome you to the first edition of ZYNA Insider! Having been part of this community since 2021, seeing how much we’ve grown feels incredible. My journey with ZYNA started as the Communications and Outreach Co-Chair from 2021 to 2023, and at the end of 2023, I stepped into the Co-Chair role. Every moment has been filled with collaboration, growth, and learning opportunities, and I couldn’t be more proud to be part of this group.

From Abu Dhabi to Toronto, and now Vancouver, I’ve been a bit of a cultural chameleon, trying to blend in everywhere. But one thing has always grounded me — being Zoroastrian at heart. No matter where I went, that connection kept me rooted. At university, I started the Canadian Zoroastrian Students Association. We had a solid 10 members (4 of whom were my non-Zoroastrian friends)! Fast forward to now, with ZYNA, I’ve been lucky enough to connect with nearly 500 young Zoroastrians across North America, helping them come together, grow, lead their initiatives, and feel a sense of belonging. Small but mighty, I’m proud of what we’ve built over the last couple of years. We’re proof that a big impact can come from even the smallest groups.

As Co-Chair, I’ll now mostly be overseeing the Communications Committee, helping us continue to strengthen how we connect, engage, and inspire each other. One of the ways we’re doing that is through ZYNA Insider, this newsletter that will come to you every other Monday morning. Whether you’re a long-time member or new to the community, this newsletter will be your go-to source for updates, stories, and opportunities to get involved.

ZYNA Insider isn’t just about sharing what’s happening within ZYNA; it’s a space where we can showcase the incredible work of our youth leaders, celebrate community milestones, and inspire one another. Each edition will feature updates on upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and stories of success, impact, and leadership across North America. And as we continue to evolve, I hope this newsletter becomes a platform where everyone feels heard, valued, and connected.

I’m excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to continue this journey with all of you. Thank you for being part of ZYNA, and I look forward to what we’ll achieve together in the coming months.
