Greedy’s: Business as Usual

A serialised story of corporate greed, immorality and exploitation

Greedy’s is a Fortune 500 financial services firm. In 2025 its Managing Director informs market analysts that the Firm will grow 225%, his aim to inflate the Greedy’s share price, so increasing the value of his own stock holding. As a series of hilarious and catastrophic events unfold, his unrealistic promise puts employees of the firm at risk and under unbearable pressure. The counterweight to management’s recklessness is Carlson Marcus, of Greedy’s Trading Desk and Representative of Greedy’s Workers’ Council. Marcus endeavours to hold leaders to account by imploring consideration of the human and social impact of their decisions, which with increasing desperation, are made for greed and to the benefit of an elite few. For Marcus and the staff he represents, it is an emotional journey. He is a character with a transformation from inquisitor to a fearless activist, standing up for what he believes is just. For Greedy’s Leadership Team, the story is about self, greed and exploitation. It is the relentless and immoral desire for growth and personal vanity that drives this story, but it is humanity that resolves it. The story is told as satirical humour, used as allegory to uncover deeper social and economic meaning.
