Savannah — A Thoughtful Path to Your Relocation
A More Intentional Approach to Relocation

Savannah — A Thoughtful Path to Your Relocation
A More Intentional Approach to Relocation
There comes a point in life when “home” begins to mean something different.
Not larger. Not louder. But more intentional.
For many Baby Boomers and empty nesters, the next chapter is no longer defined by accumulation but by alignment — lifestyle, walkability, culture, beauty, community, and a deeper sense of belonging.
Increasingly, people are choosing places that reflect how they truly want to live.
And for many, Savannah is becoming exactly that place.
With its historic architecture, slower rhythm, cultural richness, and human scale, Savannah offers something increasingly rare: authenticity. It is a city best experienced not simply as a visitor, but as a resident — mornings beneath oak canopies, walks through Forsyth Park, evenings in neighborhood wine bars, and preserved Victorian homes with stories embedded in their walls.
My own move to Savannah ultimately became part of that story as well.
What began as curiosity evolved into a deep appreciation for the city’s architecture, walkability, culture, and sense of belonging. Like many people considering a transition later in life, I wanted to experience Savannah thoughtfully before determining where and how I wanted to live.
That journey now informs the guidance I provide to others considering a similar move.
Today, as Founder of Left the Nest International and a Real Estate Advisor with Engel & Völkers Savannah, I work with individuals and families navigating relocation, lifestyle transitions, second-home exploration, and intentional next-chapter living.
Increasingly, I am seeing buyers approach Savannah not simply as a real estate decision, but as a lifestyle decision — often beginning with longer stays, rental exploration, and immersive experiences before purchasing.

High Season in Savannah
As Savannah enters high season, it is one of the best times to experience the city firsthand — from outdoor dining and festivals to evenings in the Historic District and walks beneath the oaks in Forsyth Park.
For those considering relocation, I often encourage spending meaningful time in the city before making long-term decisions. In addition to historic home opportunities, I currently have access to a rental opportunity near Savannah’s Historic District for those interested in experiencing the city more intentionally before purchasing.
Considering a move to Savannah?
The goal remains the same:
Living your next chapter boldly and beautifully.
Whether your next chapter begins with a rental, a historic home, or simply a conversation about life in Savannah, the goal remains the same:
Living your next chapter boldly and beautifully.
