Overview : This is a bi-weekly report I write outlining Top Offensive and Pitching Producers. The report is split into two sections the Offense & Pitching. Each player is given a rate and Grade (Elite/Great/Above Avg/Average/Below Average/Not Great). There is also an Excel SharePoint ‘**MiLB R&R Report #5**’ that holds all the information in more detail. I use the spreadsheet to make Scouting Reports for games I am attending.

Changes & Housekeeping : Manually entering some data is a real time suck, so I have been trying to find ways to optimize that. The primary culprit behind the manual entry is the ‘Current Level’. Having a column in my spreadsheet feels context enough to keep so I have to figure out ways to minimize this.

My report is now capturing roughly 500+ players that have large enough sample sizes at multiple levels due to promotions, demotions, rehab, etc. That number is only going to grow as the year goes on. So between going to games to scout, working 2 jobs, I have been investigating ways to optimize this process. It’s been a little bit of trial and error.

I have been playing around with importing data to the spreadsheet to reduce manual entry. XMLIMPORTS have been helpful, but it’s not perfect. When it works it’s great, but it does not work every time and some of the errors I am receiving: cell is simply [blank], ‘N/A’, ‘#REF’, ‘Loading…’ I’ll continue to search for ways to ultimately save time.

A lot of DSL/CPX players occupy top spot on the list. The DSL is the Dominican Summer League. It’s a step below A Ball. You will see a lot of guys go from DSL→A Ball.

1) Offense

Each player is ranked in these three categories — Elite (Dark Green), Great (Green), Above Average (Light Green), Average (Yellow), Below Average (Light Red), Not Great (Red)

The first tab is ‘Offensive ’. I rated and ranked all MiLB players from Start of Season — June 28th, 2026 with 40 Plate Appearance requirement. Players were assessed using a neutralized Run Value system to measure their overall offensive production, broken down into two core components:

• “The Hit Tool” — Measures a player’s offensive impact via hitting
• “The Run Tool” — Captures the value generated from non-hit plate appearances
• “Overall” — A sum of The Hit Tool and The Run Tool, representing overall offensive contribution

The second tab is ‘Pitching’. I rated and ranked all MiLB pitchers from Start of Season — June 28th, 2026, with 32 Total Batters Faced requirement. Players were assessed using a neutralized Run Value system to measure their overall offensive production, broken down into two core components:

• “The Run Tool Against” — Captures the value generated from non-hit plate appearances against
• “The Hit Tool Against” — Measures a player’s offensive impact via hitting against
• “Overall Against” — A sum of The Hit Tool and The Run Tool, representing overall offensive contribution against.

Bozzy Baseball Touching Grass Segment

Scouting BAL/WSH 6/24/26 (A+) : Caden Hunter, Miguel Sime Jr., Yeuris Jimenez

I never share my scouting notes, but since this weeks R&R Report was delayed I feel I owe it to my readers to give them a little extra this week. This should hold me accountable not to be late on my next R&R.

As I mentioned previously I have been out scouting MiLB games. I was able to see one of the Great Level Producers Caden Hunter BAL vs Miguel Sime Jr. WSN. It was one of the better games I have been to. Both of my favorite games involved Caden Hunter.

This was the second time I have seen Caden Hunter. I initially saw Hunter pitch in Lakewood against Luke Gabrysh. Hunter and Gabrysh both shoved that night. Gabrysh dominated with his fastball command and was a great pitching performance, which is not common in A+. A+ ball is filled with a lot of stuff, but Gabrysh FPS% had to be in the 70–80% that night, I was impressed by the outing. His counterpart, Hunter just blew away the Phillies bats with a FB that top out at 98, and looked like a bowling ball breaking bats. He could not land his secondary too much, but his fastball was simply overwhelming the Lakewood hitters. So when I had the chance to see Hunter again I knew I had to go.

I think it’s important to keep in mind my thoughts of the hitters at (A+). I have probably been to 10 (A+) games this year. There are a few names I like obviously, but as a whole, I have not been impressed by too many hitters. I am not sure what it is, but I just have not seen a ton of hitting talent that I love/think about on my drive home, which is pretty unusual for me.

I was impressed by the Stuff from Hunter again. I didn’t love the FPS%, but he has stuff. He leaned on his FB again this outing, and this outing he had some better command of his FC/SL.

This outing:

• Plus FB sat around 94–98 and was consistent through batter #18. OK command
• Plus FC/SL at times (not sure what they are categorizing the pitch, but 87–88mph). Got swing & miss
• CB/SW was 82–83 mph, I’d consider it more a CB. Nice freeze pitch.
• I believe he also flashed a CU, that was around 88 mph. Could have just been a hanging SL.

I thought he had a few times where his lack of off-speed command led to predictable sequencing with his FB. When he could not land his SL that he would just resort back to his FB. It’s the type of thing I noticed last outing, and that can fly here, but as you move up it won’t work. His fastball is his release valve, and he does not have great command. I thought the umpire was squeezing him at times which led to unfavorable outcomes. I thought he had a poor sequencing to the #3 batter which lead to a double, I thought he sped the batters bat up here. There were not a ton of bad misses. I thought he had some extra crossfire at batter #10, I felt it was noticeable and worth noting.
