New Year, Same Old Shit

Lucy’s first selfie with the phone Carrie Ann dropped in the loo.

I think the broken-down gate frames the softball park loo quite nicely.

Our collection of trash picked up on the short stretch between the pro shop and the tennis courts.

This Joouggerrmisstterr was still nearly full. Leave it to the Germans to fuck up a coffee-flavored liqueur. The golfer probably thought it would taste like ¡Kaluja de Mexico!

The leaning tower of Q.S. Looks like it’s going to come apart in the next storm.

The flex bags of trash that the coyotes found are from some one too fuckin’ cheap to pay Waste Management. The 55-gallon bag is the one used by Park staff. Yes, Carrie Ann cleaned it up. Good girl, good girl.

The Nevada state bird caught high in a neighbor’s tree. We were not able to rescue him. 😭

We rescued this one and reattached his tail feathers. He’s fine.

Totally overlooked the one on the left. He camouflaged himself in the mulch by the locust tree. Even if we had been able to save him, his diet of eat bread surely caused angel wings and he wouldn’t have been even half as good a flyer as the neighborhood California quail.

The one on the right is from a store owned by a multi-millionaire. Deserves to be shredded.

After a year of turkey vultures living in his tree, looming over the street and white-washing it with their crap, a neighbor had the cottonwood tree cut down ($1500). Fortunately, the vultures are long gone, hopefully never to return. 🤞🏽

It’s not exactly paradise, but the City plans to pave this area and put in another seldom-used sports field and a parking lot.
