The Mystery’s Easy When You See What They Were Doing

More than ten scientists are either gone without a trace, died mysteriously, or have been murdered. The common tie, the United States Government, or their research fields.

There is no way of making anything this bold or insane up! What’s going on is beyond the wildest of imaginations, and yet, it’s real! A mystery has unfolded and it reads like it’s out of a science fiction manuscript for one of those famed too close to being true movies, mostly made by visionaries like Roland Emmerich.

And yet, as we go on about our merry ways, living our lives, it’s unfolding in real time and has our country’s leaders starting to believe in the old saying, “Houston, we have a problem.”

And why wouldn’t they believe there’s a problem. The number, which started low, has built up to eleven missing or dead scientists, as they all have something in common. There’s a pattern to the ones who have gone missing. And it’s potentially a risk to national security, or more.

As the Trump administration digs in to finding answers to the mystery of the missing scientists, what do we know? Let’s start with one of the more curious connections-where they work.

Take Frank Maiwald, who’s cause of death has not been provided, even though he passed away on July 4th, 2024, at the age of 61, in Los Angeles. Frank Maiwald a researcher at the NASA JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) and had managed the successful delivery for two instruments going into the AMR-C program. The AMR-C program refers to the Advanced Microwave Radiometer,, and involves the Sentinel-6, which takes sea surface measurements since the 90s.

Then comes the case of Carl Grillmair. Carl was shot to death on his front porch. Before his untimely demise, he was an astrophysicist at Caltech, and colloborated with NASA as they discovered water around exoplanets. Grillmair was best known for his work studying collisions of galaxies and searching for water outside of our solar system.

A man named Michael David Hicks died on July 30, 2023 and his cause of death was also, according to news reports, not disclosed. He was a physicist with the NASA JPL, and his speciatly was with comets and asteroids. Hicks worked on some major missions, inluding the famous DART Project, which was to test the potential of deflecting asteroids potentially headed for Earth.

William Neil McCasland was an Air Force General who retired. He disappeared in February of 2026, after leaving his home in New Mexico.

What makes McCasland’s story all the more interesting is that while he didn’t work for the JPL, there are rumors to suggest McCasland was connected to America’s UFO programs. What is known is that he oversaw classified space weapons programs at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Wright Patterson is rumored to have extraterrestrial debris from the crash at Roswell N.M.

Monica Reza, who worked with McCasland on projects, disappeared while on a hike on June 22, 2025. According to police reports, resa was near 30 feet behind the person she was hiking with, having a good time, and when her companion turned around, she was gone. Her body hasn’t been recovered. She had connections to Wright Patterson Air Force Base and worked for… You guessed it, NASA’s JPL.

Melissa Casias disappeared from her home. It was June 26, 2025 when she decided to work from hom, took her daughter to lunch, and then vanished. She was last seen walking alongside a highway, without her phone, wallet, or keys, on a day she told people she was working from home. Her employer was at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Anthony Chavez, a former Los Alamos employee, disappeared on May 4, 2025. He was last seen leaving his home on foot. Authorities have conducted a thorough search of his residences, hiked trails, and put out flyers. After an exhaustive investigation, they’ve found no trace of Chavez.

Jason Thomas-Disappeared Dec 12, 2025. His body was recovered from a lake in Massachusets on March 17, 2026.

And Amy Eskridge, a 34 year old who died of a self inflicted gun shot would to the head in Huntsville Ala, in 2022. She was involved estensively with research into anti-gravity technologies, UFOs and extraterrestrials.

Before Eskridge died, she’d started a research company called The Institute for Exotic Science, and meant to form a public-facing persona to disclose anti-gravity technology.

Making Amy Eskridge’s story all the more curious, she partnered with a retired British intell officer named Frank Milburn, who was helping her investigate harrassment due to her research. In 2023, Milburn submitted his findings to the United States Congress, and concluded that Eskridge had not killed herself, and was attacked by a “directed energy weapon,” burning her body with microwaves.

The Ties

All of the missing or dead scientists have been connected through their work. Whether they crossed paths or not, they all worked either with NASA, were connected to NASA, or to the AIR FORCE, or were researching alien technologies, extraterrestrials, and UFOs/UAPs.

So, was this something done to them by foreign actors? As the UFO phenomenon becomes more public, and information becomes easier to attain, are people in these research and development fields at risk. Or, as was one of the cases, are these random acts of violence, or attributable to scientific competition?

Taking into account that UFOs have been the biggest secret kept by the governments of our world, it’s easy to form an opinion that there’s been some people “silenced” over what they knew or had discovered. However, in this new era, were we are on alert from foreign spies, intelligence gatherers overseas, and cyber attacks by Russia, China, and Iran, could any of these countries have taken our scientific minds, bled them for information, and disposed of them?
