SWM, a joint venture brand acquired by SHINERAY Motorcycle, unveiled at EICMA 2023 with a number of new products such as two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles and announced the key technical parameters of the Custom V 1200 Stormbreaker. This model is equipped with the classic air-cooled V-twin engine with only 2 valves per cylinder, and a bumper valve actuator that can produce 61 horsepower (45 kW), conforming to Euro 5. It can be said that the Stormbreaker has almost the same power as the last air-cooled Sportster in Europe (67hp). It is also equipped with the 5-speed gearbox and final drive compartment passing through a timing belt that runs quietly and cleanly.

The power and overall appearance of the Stormbreaker follow the original American model, with the weight of 262 kg mentioned by SWM. Its tank can hold at least 14L fuel. In terms of the model number, the Harley-Davidson has a smaller fuel tank. Since 2021 (Euro 5), there are no more new Harley-Davidson Sportsters in Europe with air-cooled engines. The last classic original Sportster with an air-cooled engine was manufactured on November 18, 2022 at the Harley-Davidson factory in York, Pennsylvania. Harley-Davidson’s Sportster has been relatively sporty by Harley-Davidson standards since it came out in 1957. The Sportster S with a new water-cooled engine is now available.

The SWM Custom V 1200 Stormbreaker incorporates some of Harley’s designs, such as the milled areas on the black cast aluminum wheels, the shape of the brake discs and calipers. ABS is a prerequisite for a new registration in Europe, and the sensor ring can be seen in the brake disc.

The wheels are in float format, namely, front wheel 130/90–16 and rear wheel 150/80–16. The deviation in the design may affect the fuel tank and LED headlights, which can be suitable for more modern naked motorcycles. The seat height of Lowrider is 710 mm.
