Q: Jung suggested that the introvert generally has a tense attitude, while the extravert generally has a relaxed attitude. What do you think about that?

A: Jung did say that “the introvert generally has a tense attitude” and “the extravert generally has a relaxed attitude” — but he also clearly noted that “exceptions are frequent, even in the same individual” (CW 6). These observations show that Jung was mindful of exceptions.

That being said I think Jung’s generalizations reflect more of his own lived experience — that of an introvert with some neurotic tendencies who would’ve scored as limbic in the Big Five — than an universal pattern.
