Nila walked to the stage with Dwarika and Siya. She looked gorgeous in that heavy stone-worked Banarasi Silk saree, and the traditional jewelry made her more stunning. The stylist did their job perfectly, making her look more attractive, but her face remained emotionless. She looked like a statue, devoid of any emotion on her face.
Siya’s face looked pale. She cried hard, trying to change her decision, but Nila wasn’t ready to listen. She asked Siya to be strong and fight for her decisions in the future. Siya stood behind her when Nila sat near Aadith.
They did a few rituals together, but they both had no emotions on their faces. Nila’s face resembled nothing; his face was cold and expressionless. After the rituals, the priest handed over the mangalsutra. He took it from his hand and stepped closer to her.
With a sigh, he wrapped his arms around her and tied the knot. When his finger touched her skin, her body stiffened, and it clearly showed her despise.
Then his grandmother came there holding a sindoor, vermilion box. He took a pinch of sindoor between his thumb and index finger and filled her hair partition. She stood there like a stone without any expression.
They both touched their grandmother’s feet to get her blessings. Her face carried a beautiful smile, and she looked more satisfied.
“God bless you with a life full of happiness!” She blessed them wholeheartedly. They took some other elders' blessings, and there were few post-wedding rituals.
After all those rituals, they both were all set to leave that place, Nila’s eyes moistured when she looked at Siya, who cried, hugging her. She caressed her hair.
“Stay strong! Never sacrifice your happiness,” she said, kissing her forehead. Siya nodded and bid her goodbye sadly. Dwarika felt like she had won the lottery, and her face resembled her extreme happiness. Once after the rituals, Raani met her personally and handed over some of her jewelry to her.
“Now you belong to our family, and you should be equal to our status. I already transferred a few properties to your name. You can stay in your new house once the furnishing works are done. I offered a good job to your husband in our company. Siya’s admission will be in the best college in this city,” she informed her in an authoritative tone.
“Sure, matha ji! We will be grateful to you for our lifetime,” she replied humbly and accepted her offer.
Nila and Aadith entered into his Rolls-Royce car and the driver started the car. Nila bid a sad goodbye to her sister before the car started from the venue.
She couldn’t control her tears when the car started moving. She felt like she was moving away from her happiness, and at one point, it was going to disappear permanently from her life.
He heard her weeping, and that irritated him the most. Already his mood was upset, and she made it worse. He clenched his fist to control his emotions as he couldn’t speak anything in front of the driver, who was going to reveal anything that happened in that car.
After an hour of an awful journey, they reached his mansion. They both got down from the car.
The mansion stood there as if the surrounding nature had embraced it, so that the flora flowed within it as much as around it. Aadith had loved the trees so much that there was a mighty oak in the center, centuries old, and the great house had been built around it. Aadith was an architect. After his dad’s demise, he remodeled the mansion to his taste.
The garden and trees around the mansion made the whole environment pleasant. Nila was not in the mood to admire the beauty of the mansion. So she just entered the house following him. The house was empty, which made her feel relaxed, so that she could spend some time alone without anyone around her torturing her to do some stupid rituals.
She stood in the living hall, not knowing where to go. She felt like she was left alone in an unknown forest. He sat up on the sofa and closed his eyes. The horizontal lines on his forehead indicated his stress and dislike. She stayed calm, and her legs started aching as she stood there for a long time with those heavy outfits. So she decided to break that awkward silence.
“Where should I stay?” She asked and found movements in his closed eyes. He opened his eyes and looked at her with narrowed eyes.
“You stay wherever you want, but keep in mind that you should stay within your limits. Never involve yourself in my private space,” he said sternly.
“The same applies to you! You too keep the same in your mind and don’t interfere in my life,” she replied with the same rage. He smirked.
“You’re the one who is standing in my house. I never thought I’d marry someone like you. But I’m very curious to know the reason for your acceptance of this wedding.
Is that my money, fame, or my appearance?” He asked, stepping towards her.
“None of the above! If you think that a girl will fall for your above-mentioned qualities, then today, your bride wouldn’t have eloped with someone else!” She mocked, and her face carried an evil smirk which provoked his anger. He clutched her throat, making her gasp in shock.
“Don’t dare to utter those words again!” He warned her, and he turned red, indicating his volatile rage. She beat his hand furiously to release his hold, and when he left, she coughed continuously, and tears welled up in her eyes.
“You’re a jerk, you’re a monster, no one on this earth will either care for you or love you! You’re the only one I hate the most in this world. I swear, you will rot in hell for all your actions,” she shouted and left the place with tears. He clenched his fist in frustration and ran his fingers over his head.
Nila entered the first room she found on the first floor. She badly wanted some time alone. She locked the door and removed all the jewelry from her neck, and threw that on the floor with force.
Then she threw herself on the bed and let her tears freely flow over her face. She thought about her ill-fate, which turned her life upside down in a single day, making her weaker.
She drifted off without her concern when she was crying continuously. When she opened her eyes after a long nap, she felt her eyelids were heavy, and her burning eyes made it more difficult to open her eyes.
But she neglected the pain and opened her eyes slowly. The place was dark, which made her gasp, and then she realized that she had slept for a long time. She stretched her hand and found her mobile on the bed, which she had thrown when she entered the room.
She switched it on and found it was half past ten. “OMG! I slept for four hours!” She caught her forehead, and her stomach started to make some weird sound, making her realize that she was hungry and hadn’t had anything since the afternoon.
She switched on the lights and looked around the room. It was a very big well well-furnished, cozy bedroom. If she were in a good mood, she might have admired the beautiful room, but at that time, she just felt like a luxurious prison. She wondered whether she would get independence from that prison.
