Contrived Politics: Stop Letting It Occupy Your Mind and Your Life

To the People of these United States,

It is a truth proven by time that when power grows loud, the people must grow still within themselves, lest their reason be carried away by clamor and design. Government was established to secure liberty — not to inhabit the minds of free men and women.

We did not found this nation so that a small number might command the thoughts, fears, and passions of the many. Such influence is not liberty; it is dependence. And dependence is the natural enemy of freedom.

Let it be remembered: those who hold office are but temporary stewards, not masters of conscience. They are few. The people are many. No minority, however elevated, is entitled to rule the inner lives of a free population.

History instructs us plainly. Power seeks expansion. It thrives upon division, agitation, and constant alarm. A people kept in turmoil are easily guided. A people grounded in reason and virtue are not.

The strength of America has never resided in councils or chambers, but in the character of its citizens. In their industry. Their restraint. Their willingness to govern themselves before being governed by others.

When men surrender their attention without measure, they surrender something far more valuable than gold — they surrender judgment. And without judgment, liberty cannot long endure.

Therefore, let politics remain in its proper place: a limited concern, attended to with vigilance, but denied dominion over the soul. Let families, faith, labor, and community reclaim their rightful precedence.

A free people must think freely, live fully, and refuse the constant summons of manufactured outrage. Calm minds are difficult to command. Independent spirits are impossible to enslave.

So we say this plainly:

Take up responsibility for your own life.

Guard your mind as you would your home.

Remember that liberty is not granted — it is practiced.

This nation was born when ordinary people decided they would rule themselves.
