A poem about playing poker

Cards on the table never lie. Poker is a game of where time is wagered, where dreams of winning rise with every hand.

Luck strikes when least expected—  a perfect draw,

a winning hand, sending excitement racing through my mind.

I watch the numbers pass through each hand, waiting for the right card to appear, turning hope into victory.

This game demands patience, a tournament of chances carefully played. Confident fingers curl around the cards, ready to deal to every player, gathered around the table.

We sit poised, hungry for the win, our faces still, our hearts concealed. Confidence guides my move as I play with quiet control, letting eyes believe I’ve known the game all along.
