When A Delayed Radiology Procedure Becomes a Population Health Issue

Delayed Imaging Is a Population Health Problem (https://kellyemrick.com/delayed-imaging-is-a-population-health-problem/). Why should diagnostic access, waiting times, and operational barriers be healthcare leadership priorities? Delayed imaging is more than an operational inconvenience; it can postpone diagnosis, limit treatment options, increase costs, and deepen health disparities in rural, urban, and underserved communities. My latest research examines the diagnostic access gap and argues that imaging access should be viewed as a population health capability rather than just departmental throughput. The key question for healthcare leaders is: How long do different populations wait for diagnosis, and what are we doing to close that gap?
