WeatherXM and Zeus Align to Advance Decentralized Weather Intelligence
A powerful new collaboration unites the world’s largest decentralized weather network with cutting-edge machine learning, advancing the next generation of hyperlocal forecasting.

Introducing the Collaboration
WeatherXM and Zeus, a subnet on Bittensor, are taking the next step in strengthening decentralized weather intelligence.
Through this collaboration, Zeus will begin utilizing WeatherXM’s Network Association data via a commercial data license, gaining access to high-quality, hyperlocal observational data across the network.
In parallel, both teams are exploring deeper integration points that go beyond data access, combining the strengths of a global weather network with a rapidly advancing decentralized AI system.
What This Unlocks
Zeus will integrate WeatherXM’s observational dataset into its decentralized forecasting architecture, validating miner forecasts against high-fidelity real-world signals.
This establishes a ground-truth benchmark that drives miners to optimize their models and convergence dynamics, and enables Zeus to achieve stronger short- and mid-range forecast performance across its network.
For WeatherXM, this collaboration brings an additional layer of intelligence to its growing footprint. Working as part of a forecasting system that consistently pushes beyond state-of-the-art benchmarks creates new opportunities to refine WeatherXM’s own models, strengthen its data value chain and deepen engagement with its community of builders and station operators.
This reciprocal uplift offers improved model calibration, a more valuable data pipeline, and deeper collaboration with its community of operators and builders.
Broader Impact on the Ecosystem
The collaboration touches multiple parts of both ecosystems.
Forecast innovation WeatherXM data provides a dynamic source of ground truth for Zeus, and insights from the Zeus network can inform and accelerate WeatherXM’s ongoing improvement of its own forecast products.
Network expansion The teams are aligning on strategic commercial growth, with Zeus actively driving station deployment of WeatherXM, strengthening global coverage and improving hyperlocal accuracy.
Builder engagement Both teams see potential for joint initiatives through WeatherXM’s Builders Program , including pilot deployments, experimental tooling and new weather-intelligence applications.
Ecosystem clarity By acquiring the WeatherXM’s Network Association data license, Zeus formalises the relationship in a transformative and sustainable way aligned with the broader standards of the decentralized eco-system.
Together this collaborative approach creates a positive feedback loop: more stations, better data, stronger models, more use cases, higher real-world impact for both networks.
Perspectives from Both Teams
WeatherXM “The Zeus subnet represents one of the most advanced approaches to decentralized weather forecasting. Integrating their validators with the WeatherXM global dataset amplifies the value of our observational network and creates new opportunities to enhance forecast accuracy and expand global coverage of premium weather services. We look forward to what our teams will achieve together,” says Manolis Nikiforakis, CEO and Founder of WeatherXM.
Zeus “WeatherXM provides the observations Zeus needs to move from global accuracy to hyper-local precision. Ultimately, this creates a compounding effect: as the WeatherXM network grows, our models get smarter, directly increasing the value for every station involved. We see this as the start of a deeper collaboration, from improving the subnet’s performance to participating in initiatives that help grow the WeatherXM network,” says Wouter Haringhuizen, CEO and Founder of Zeus.
Looking Ahead
This alignment marks the beginning of a multi-layer collaboration across data, forecasting and network growth. WeatherXM and Zeus will continue building together across several fronts, from strengthening the quality and reach of the WeatherXM network to advancing forecasting accuracy through decentralized intelligence. More updates will follow as the collaboration expands.
