The experts, Doctors and academics call the pandemic’s fourth wave, “The pandemic of the unvaccinated.” It refers to those who refuse to get the vaccine.

They’re using the wrong language.

It’s not the ‘pandemic of the unvaccinated.’

It’s the pandemic of the unwilling.

I recently made the decision to cut off all association with people in my sphere of influence who, for whatever reason, refuse to get vaccinated. Some of these people are highly educated people with degrees and certificates, some aren’t. Doesn’t matter. If you’re not vaccinated, don’t wear a mask, or are making a political statement by being obstinate, fine. Just don’t do it around me, thank you very much.

Yesterday, I received an email from Beaumont Hospital. It advised people with non-threatening conditions to go to urgent care or your primary care doctor. Their ER’s are filling up. And that’s just in Michigan, where we have 58% fully vaccinated.

In other words, if you tore your ACL playing softball or broke your leg while hiking, don’t bother. The problem being is that soon, urgent care will be flooded with unvaccinated Covid patients and they’re not set up for that, either.

Since June, when numbers seemed to be pointing towards zero, cases have been rising. That 98% of these cases are people who are unvaccinated/unwilling and then beg for the shot, only to be told it’s too late is both sad and telling.

It’s sad, because they’ll leave behind loved ones who’ll have to clean up their mess. It’s telling because they made it political and want to ‘own the libitards’ or because Biden is president and not their beloved Orange Nero.

So now, people are wearing disguises to get vaccinated, so they don’t get shamed by their MAGA brethren or buying vaccination cards off the black market to be able to go to restaurants or sporting events. The first is comical, the second isn’t.

Here’s the truth: If ‘the last guy’ was still president, these people would have been lined up to get their jabs back in March. ‘Owning the libs’ only goes so far in a worldwide health crisis.

Idaho, Alaska, Mississippi are all at crisis mode. Idaho has begun to ration care, like a MAS*H unit in a war. Alaska, home of Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods, their largest hospital is nearing capacity and turning away patients with Covid. Mississippi leads the country in Covid cases per capita.

The ten states with the lowest vaccination rates in the US all voted for the guy who lost last November. Of course, the two biggest offenders, Florida and Texas, have governors who want to be President and have signed the most anti-vaccine legislation in the country as well as other onerous laws.

The pandemic of the unwilling. It is also the pandemic of the unbowed. Unbowed in their misguided beliefs. It was reported yesterday that 78% of Republicans don’t believe Biden is President. It was 71% in April. A good number of those people also believe that their guy will be reinstated, even though there is nothing in the Constitution that provides for that.

False Noise, led by the usual suspects, keep telling their viewers misinformation, even though they’re all vaccinated. Company policy. Hypocrites are too mild an adjective for Hannity and Three Dolts on a Divan. These people are playing to a shrinking audience and yet, they’re all protected, as are their families. But they don’t tell their captive audience that. They can’t.

The pandemic of the unwilling. It is also the pandemic of the unbowed. Unbowed in their misguided beliefs. It was reported yesterday that 78% of Republicans don’t believe Biden is President. It didn’t have to be this way. But by turning everything into a political absurdity, the tyranny of the minority (and their mouthpieces) have insured that we will have year three of the pandemic. Because of their arrogance and misguided belief that somehow there’s a microchip (or something to turn them into liberals), the unwilling are keeping those of us with common sense and belief in science, those of us who got the jab and follow-up, from feeling fully human again. As are they.
