Is Christmas in the Middle of Summer Crazy?
When someone mentions Christmas in the middle of summer, most people laugh and say, “Don’t rush winter. Let’s enjoy summer first!” Personally, I think a drop in summer heat and humidity would be refreshing.
But why not borrow a bit of the Christmas spirit and turn it into a mid-summer Romantic Moment.
Tell your partner you’d like to celebrate a bit of Christmas in July or August. Choose a day.
Plan to exchange wrapped gifts, setting a spending limit of perhaps $25. The gift must be something you can enjoy together. No gift cards.
A few days before “Christmas,” decorate a houseplant, corner table, or a cozy chair with festive touches. Then on “Christmas morning”, play appropriate music. Pour hot chocolate or coffee. Munch on candy canes or a favorite holiday treat.
Be playful. Silly. And kids for a day.
Sometimes memorable Romantic Moments come from unusual and unexpected celebrations. Because celebrating your relationship is not calendar dependent.
