Holi, the Festival of Colors, is one of the most vibrant and joyful celebrations in India. It marks the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country, Holi brings people together beyond barriers of age, caste, and social status. The air fills with laughter, music, and clouds of bright colors, creating an atmosphere of pure happiness.

The festival has deep mythological roots. It is closely associated with the story of Prahlad and Holika, which symbolizes the victory of devotion and righteousness over arrogance and evil. On the eve of Holi, people light bonfires in a ritual known as Holika Dahan, signifying the burning away of negativity and the welcoming of positivity and new beginnings.

The main day of Holi is celebrated with colors, water balloons, and festive sweets. Friends, families, and even strangers smear gulal on each other’s faces, dance to lively music, and enjoy traditional delicacies like gujiya and thandai. The spirit of forgiveness and renewal is central to the celebration, as people forget past grievances and strengthen their bonds.

Beyond the fun and festivity, Holi carries a deeper message. It teaches us to embrace diversity, spread joy, and let go of bitterness. The explosion of colors reflects the beauty of life’s variety and reminds us to live with openness and warmth.

In essence, Holi is not just a festival of colors but a celebration of love, unity, and the vibrant spirit of life.

Yet I don’t celebrate it at all because it has bad colors and make it harder to even to remove. So what I do instead? I use to do Jaap and follow what is actually prescribed by scriptures and always yearned to make Holi a real festival within human mind. I didn't went for external extravagance rather enjoyed internal love and glow for divinity for Holi festival. I did one mistake by the way, that was to get lost in TV post all this Jaap and hard work. I just did my work and remained happy within my means.
