How is life in Pilani outside BITS?

Pilani is a small town in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan which has a population of about 30,000 townsfolk.

Climate:

Pilani has an extreme range of temperature it reaches about 50 degrees Celsius in summer and to the sub-zero temperature in winters. But not to worry :) we generally have our summer and winter vacations during this time.

Transportation:

Pilani lacks railway station and the closest ones are Loharu (22.5km), Bhiwani (81km) and Chirawa railway station which is about 20km away from campus. But there is a Bus stop just outside the campus and there are lots of cabs 24*7 available at your service.

Market:

There is a pocket-size market just outside the campus where you can find fruit and vegetable vendors, sweet shops, bookstores etc.

Pilani lack all multinational food services like KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, McDonald’s etc. But there are some small places ( Lapizzeria, N.l. Forman etc) to hang out with your friends.

Educational and research Institutes:

Apart from BITS Pilani, there are several other colleges, schools and research institute which exist in Pilani.

Some of the well-known schools are :

BPS(Birla public school), Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Birla Shishu Vihar, Birla School Pilani, Birla International School (all these Schools come under Birla Education Trust)

Several premier research institute like CEERI (Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute), engineering institute like BKBIET(BK Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology)and other universities like Shridhar university also make its mark here.

Medical facilities:

Pilani lack advance medical services for emergencies of students but decent hospitals for the routine checkup.

Physician, Surgeon, Gynecologist, Orthopedic surgeon, Pediatrician, ENT specialist, and other doctors are available at Birla sarvajanik hospital (BSH).

Mahadeo singhi(M S) eye hospital has an arrangement for routine and emergency services for eye care. This hospital also has facilities for Dental problems.

Tourist places:

There are only small tourist destination like

Panchavati (which is a place where characters of Ramayana have been artificially placed in the middle of the green forest to gave a real look and sense that in the actual Panchvati forest where Lord Ram lived).

Dalelgarh fort

Khetri fort is an astouding place for the night out with your friends where you can track whole night and after reaching on top you can enjoy the amazing sunrise there.

Pahadi is a decorous place for a small cycling track.
