3D Character Artist
First of all, What is 3D Modelling ? 3D Modeling is the process of creating three-dimensional objects that can be viewed, rotated, and animated in a virtual space. These objects can be characters, environments, or even non-organic objects such as buildings or vehicles. 3D modeling is used in a variety of industries, including gaming, film, architecture, and product design.

as you can see, this is how looks like 3d modelling
Next there are 2 basic modeling in 3D
-
Geometry : 3D modeling focuses on the manipulation of points (vertices), lines (edges), and faces (faces) to form objects. Basic geometry involves the use of simple shapes, such as cubes, cylinders, and spheres, which can be reshaped into more complex objects.
-
Coordinate System : 3D modeling typically uses the XYZ coordinate system to position objects in space. X refers to horizontal, Y to vertical, and Z indicates depth.
Next there are Types of 3D Modeling
-
Polygonal Modeling : The most common modeling technique where an object is made up of many small polygons. Each polygon has many sides and can be combined to create complex shapes. Software such as Blender and Maya are commonly used tools.
-
NURBS Modeling : Using mathematical curves known as Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines. NURBS modeling produces smoother surfaces and is commonly used in the design of organic products or objects.
-
Digital Sculpting (Sculpting) : This technique is similar to sculpting in the real world. Software like ZBrush allows artists to create details like wrinkles in skin or fibers in fabric more easily.
-
Procedural Modeling : Using algorithms or scripts to create complex objects, such as nature or landscapes. An example of popular software is Houdini.
Next Texture and UV Mapping
1. UV Mapping : Process the 3D model into a 2D form so that the texture can be applied properly. This is important to avoid texture distortion.

this is how UV Mapping works
- Texturing : Once UV mapping is complete, the model can be colored or textured using software such as Substance Painter or Photoshop. Textures create visual details on the surface of an object, such as the pattern of fabric or the scratches on metal.

this is how texturing looks like
Lastly there are Shading and Material
- Shading : The technique of coloring 3D objects to produce realistic lighting effects. Shading is also known as patterning, which is the depiction of depth in a 3D model using varying levels of darkness.

this is how Shading looks like
- Material : The definition of the model’s surface, including color, reflection, and transparency. Shaders are code that define how light interacts with the surface. For example, a skin shader will be different than a shader for metal or wood.
