Five major matchups official for Power Struggle!
First matchups set for November 4
The first matchups are official for Power Struggle November 4. EDION Arena Osaka will see a critical night on the road to the Tokyo Dome January 2025!

David Finlay will seek another defence of the IWGP Global Championship against Taichi. After a victory against YOSHI-HASHI in Kobe, Finlay followed up with another defence at King of Pro-Wrestling against the Headhunter’s partner Hirooki Goto. Yet while his use of a shillelagh as part of his victory was controversial, his actions post match were despicable. Mocking Goto’s crying children, Finlay went on to issue a challenge to a man who beat him during the G1 Climax, Yuya Uemura.
That challenge was made in the full knowledge that Uemura is still on the shelf with a torn triceps, but his stablemate was there to defend the Heat Storm’s honour. Taichi admitted that he hadn’t made the G1 Climax cut this year, but that he was still capable of taking the Global Championship and carrying it into the Tokyo Dome this January. Will Taichi be able to end Finlay’s reign of terror?

DOUKI will be challenged by the returning Master Wato in Osaka. After the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion showed his demonic side to retain his title in record time at King of Pro-Wrestling over SHO, he was attacked by Yoshionobu Kanemaru. Yet it would be Wato, returning from injury that came to the champion’s aid, only to issue a ground shaking challenge. Wato has come a very long way from the timid young individual who was attacked by DOUKI during his return from excursion. Will DOUKI’s sensational 2024 continue apace, or will the Way to the Grandmaster finally be complete?

IWGP Tag Team Championship gold will be at stake when HENARE and Great-O-Khan challenge TMDK. Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls have remained mighty indeed as both IWGP and NJPW STRONG Tag Team Champions, but HENARE and O-Khan are an intimidating side who have come into their own as individuals throughout the year. Now they look to reign over the tag team division en route to World Tag League.

A special tag team contest will pit Hiroshi Tanahashi and El Phantasmo against EVIL and Ren Narita. Tanahashi made an emotional address at King of Pro-Wrestling to announce his retirement on January 4 2026 at Wrestle Kingdom 20. That brought out EVIL, who attacked the Ace and loudly stated that it would be the King of Darkness that decides Tanahashi’s retirment- at his hand. Now EVIL teams with new NJPW World TV Champion Ren Narita against the Ace and an unlikely new friend in El Phantasmo.

Tag team action will also carry forward to the final of the Super Junior Tag League. The top point scorers from A and B Blocks will collide in EDION Arena, with the trophies to claim and a likely ticket to the Tokyo Dome to be punched!
