Where was the deadly force?

When terrorists attack the U.S. Congress, shouldn’t the defense be anything up to and including deadly force?

What happened in Washington DC on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, was no less than a terrorist attack on the U.S. Congress, on our republic and on our democracy.

It was an attempted coup, a seditious, treasonous insurrection, orchestrated by the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

His cult followers, who had been riled up before their attack by Trump, his son Don Jr. and Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, attacked the U.S. Congress and overwhelmed the police force that was guarding the building.

These people were not normal, peaceful protesters who express their disagreement and anger through shouting, waving of flags and other peaceful if annoying means. These people were terrorist insurgents who attacked the building, caused destruction and put people in fear of their lives.

Why wasn’t deadly force used to protect the building and it’s inhabitants? The motives of the intruders were clearly hostile and possibly murderous. If there is a time to use deadly force, this was it. If I can shoot an intruder who comes into my house then I am expecting that violent intruders to the U.S. Congress could be shot dead.

Some people are asking why there was not more of a defensive force, in light of the force present in our Capital City during the Black Lives Matter demonstrations during the past summer. Others are asking what would have happened if the attackers had been Black, Brown, Muslim, Asian or Antifa?

Where was Homeland Security? I am thinking that the people in power had made plans to only have a light police presence at the U.S. Congress and at Trump’s rally earlier in the day, in order to enable the action that took place.

Questions that need to be answered. I mostly want to know, why is there no deadly force used to protect the U.S. Congress. Will it be as easy to storm the Supreme Court, the White House?
