Fuzzy Felt Fun: No Pigs Available

When the hamster grew wings and took to the sky to fly,

he looked down on Jesus being born…

Poem to accompany my image above.

When the hamster grew wings and took to the sky to fly, he looked down on Jesus being born, with a yawn.

The wise man spoke with a croak, shocked to see the small pet without a vet — rocketing to the moon and leaving so soon.

He wondered if it was something he said, or the crown on his head — that made the animal behave so silly, perhaps his name was Billy?

But when he looked around, there wasn’t a sound, not even from the children playing, or Mary praying. He decided they all must be part of a scene — that has-been.

I had so much fun creating the fuzzy felt picture. I am going to do a Fuzzy Felt Q & A below.

What is Fussy Felt?

In case you are wondering-

Fuzzy-Felt is a simple fabric toy intended for young children, first sold in 1950. The toys consist of a flocked backing board onto which a number of felt shapes are placed to create different pictures. Wikipedia

If I was you, I would ignore the bit about, intended for young children! In my opinion, it is oodles of fun for all the family.

Where did I get the Fuzzy Felt?

Where I live, we have the most incredible charity shop I have ever come across. Everything is just £1 — except furniture. I have bought some amazing clothes, shoes, crockery etc. plus some retro bits and pieces from the store over the last few years. They have an area of toys and games. And that is where my partner and I found two original Fuzzy felt boxes. One to create — would you believe — Bible Stories (1961). The other is a Pets edition from 1970.

Have I used Fuzzy Felt before?

I expect when you look at my amazing picture, you will be shouting YES🙃. Indeed, I did have Fuzzy Felt as a child and since we purchased the ones above about four months ago, both my partner and I can be found playing with the addictive felt game now and then. It is a great destresser!

Why are you showing us your Fuzzy Felt?

I thought you’d never ask! Well, Queen Raine declared that Medium writers need to celebrate their inner child this month, so I am so excited to be on The RvR publication doing precisely that.

I recommend it, Ann James & Debdutta Pal.

Why is it called No Pigs Available?

You tell me?
