Picture this: It’s 2024, you just graduated college six months ago.

You’re finally free! You can do whatever you want now. That’s a lot of time on your hands, and without all of the distractions have you ever noticed your boyfriend kinda sucks?

Like, he lives with his mom who does all the laundry. Cooks and cleans for him, yet he doesn’t pay a single. cent in bills. (He is 23 by the way, and employed). You point this out to him, he tells his parents, now they hate you. But you don’t end it because you’re afraid to be alone. Then you discover Reading.

Like many a book girly, my first exposure to romantasy crack was Sarah J. Maas’ “A Court of Thorns and Roses”. I finished it with startling speed. Three days to completion while holding down a full-time job was something unheard of for a literary delinquent who hadn’t read for fun since… middle school?

I immediately devoured “A Court of Mist and Fury” of course. The boyfriend started to express concern, I was “reading too much fantasy”. I mentally told him to F off. I had just finished “A Court of Wings and Ruin” when he broke up with me.

Shocking, I know.

But fear not, for I was already betrothed to Rhysand in my mind. And thus began a SJM binge. Although I have yet to get to Crescent City due to burning out on her writing, this led to a love for the genre I still hold dear.

I read fantasy, romance, historical fiction, thriller, sci-fi, you name it and i’ll at least consider trying it. I’m also in the process of dabbling in both novel writing and blogging, the hopeless multi-passionate that I am. So follow along for more updates as I go on this journey!
