The More Challenges You Conquer, the Faster You Grow

Building three open source packages taught me that every challenge you overcome becomes the experience that makes the next one easier.

There is something I have learned ever since I started contributing to the Kivex ecosystem.

Building Kivex React, Kivex Solid, and Kivex Svelte taught me something that goes far beyond writing code.

It taught me that the more challenges you conquer, the smarter you become.

The smarter you become, the faster you move.

That was exactly what I experienced.

When I built the first package, Kivex React, it took me quite a while to complete. Everything was new to me. I had to understand another developer’s architecture, gather requirements, ask questions, and design my own implementation before writing any code.

There was a lot to learn.

When that package was completed, I moved on to Kivex Solid.

This time, things felt different.

I was able to complete about 90% of the package very quickly. The knowledge I gained from building Kivex React made the process much smoother.

Then came the remaining 10%.

That final part became one of the toughest debugging experiences I’ve had.

I spent more than 10 hours trying to figure out why everything looked correct but refused to work.

My code was clean.

The components were generated correctly.

Direct imports worked perfectly.

Yet importing the icons through the package simply refused to render them.

I questioned almost everything.

My generator.

My exports.

My package structure.

My TypeScript configuration.

The more I investigated, the more confusing it became.

Eventually, I discovered that the problem wasn’t my code.

It was the build tool.

The moment I replaced the build pipeline, everything snapped into place.

That experience taught me another lesson.

Sometimes the bug isn’t in your code.

Sometimes it’s hiding in the tooling.

After completing Kivex Solid, I moved on to the third package, Kivex Svelte.

Something surprised me.

In less than 24 hours, I had completed the entire package.

I remember looking at the finished project and thinking,

“Wow… this was fast.”

Then I realized why.

It wasn’t because Svelte was easier.

It was because React had already taught me valuable lessons.

SolidJS had taught me even more.

By the time I started building the Svelte package, I wasn’t beginning from scratch anymore.

I was building on experience.

That is what challenges do.

Every challenge you overcome leaves you with something valuable.

The first challenge teaches you one lesson.

The second challenge teaches you another.

By the time you face the third challenge, you’re no longer the same person who started the first one.

You think differently.

You recognize patterns more quickly.

You debug with more confidence.

You solve problems faster.

Looking back, I don’t think the biggest achievement was building three wrapper packages.

The biggest achievement was becoming a better engineer because of the journey.

Committing myself to the Kivex ecosystem has been one of the most rewarding learning experiences I’ve had.

Every package stretched me.

Every obstacle taught me something new.

Every bug made me more patient.

Every solution made me more confident.

The experience has been wonderful.

The experience has been great.

Most importantly, it has reminded me that growth rarely comes from avoiding difficult problems.

Growth comes from staying with those problems long enough to understand them.

Because every challenge you conquer today becomes the experience that makes tomorrow a little easier.
