PyData Paris 2025 Keynotes
We are thrilled to announce the keynote speakers for the upcoming PyData Paris 2025, the leading gathering of the open-source data science and AI/ML community in France.
PyData Paris will take place at the Cité des Sciences from September 30 to October 1st, 2025. Hosted by QuantStack, this event promises to bring together open-source maintainers and enthusiasts, as well as experts from across the globe, all united by their passion for open-source technologies.
We are honored to feature an impressive lineup of keynote speakers who will share their invaluable perspective and expertise:

Alenka Frim
Alenka’s open-source journey began with the Apache Arrow project. In 2021, she made her first contribution to the Arrow R package, an experience that sparked her interest in software development and open-source collaboration. During her internship at Quansight, she was introduced to the Python DataFrame API standard, which deepened her understanding of interoperability challenges.
In 2022, after over a year of contributions, Alenka became an Apache Arrow committer, primarily focusing on the Python implementation. She continued her work as a PyArrow maintainer at Voltron Data until mid-2024.
Apache Arrow remains the project Alenka is most passionate about, and she is still actively involved in its development.
Ralf Gommers
Ralf has been deeply involved in the SciPy, PyData and Python packaging communities for 15 years. He is a maintainer of NumPy, SciPy, the Array API standard, meson-python and pypackaging-native. Ralf is the current SciPy Steering Council Chair, and he served on the NumFOCUS Board of Directors from 2012–2018.
Ralf co-directs Quansight Labs, which consists of developers, community managers, designers, and documentation writers who build open-source technology and grow open-source communities around data science and scientific computing projects. Previously Ralf has worked in industrial R&D, on topics as diverse as MRI, lithography and forestry.

Anita Graser
Anita Graser is a spatial data scientist, open-source advocate, and author. Her background is in geoinformatics, and she is currently working as a Senior Scientist in the Data Science & Artificial Intelligence research group at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna. Anita also serves on the QGIS project steering committee and teaches Python for QGIS at Unigis Salzburg. She is the lead developer of MovingPandas (a Python library for analysing movement data) and has developed tools such as the Time Manager plugin for QGIS. She has received multiple awards, including the international OSGeo Sol Katz award for her contributions to open-source geographic information systems. Anita has published several books about QGIS, including “Learning QGIS” and “QGIS Map Design” and writes a popular spatial data science blog at https://anitagraser.com.
