Swaziland News, stop inciting violence through elections denial
If the people who vote in elections are given reasons to doubt the legitimacy of the elections, there is always violence which arises. This is what just happened in Kenya, it has happened in Rwanda, and it has happened in the so-called model of democracy in the world, the USA. People got killed in riots where opposing sides were disagreeing about the legitimacy of the elections.
Being the ever-cliché propagandist, Swaziland News has begun sowing distrust in the elections system of Eswatini’s 2023 National Elections.

Swaziland News published an article calling into question the number of people who have registered for the elections. The numbers have just passed 300,000, and Swaziland News is trying to claim that these numbers are not real because they say they don’t see queues at registration sites.
This is insane.
According to Swaziland News, the Elections and Boundaries Commission must revert to the slow and tedious process of pen and paper registration, instead of making queues disappear by using faster technology.
Swaziland News is so desperate for Eswatini to be in a violent and chaotiec state of affairs that they are doing anything they can to make Emaswati lose faith in their own country. This is the primary goal of all Swaziland News’ propaganda — to make Emaswati hate themselves to the point of burning the whole country down in the name of “justice” or “freedom” or some other such lofty values which are easier to chant than to define. This is profitable for Swaziland.
It is inspiring to see in the comments of the story that the people of Eswatini are wisening up to the fact that Swaziland News is not always reporting useful information which is helpful. Most people who comment have resorted to participate in the elections.
Emaswati should continue to review information they receive online with a Sober Eye to make sure that they don’t easily get manipulated by online tabloids like Swaziland News.
