An Open Letter To My Alarm Clock
We need to talk…

Every night, I set an alarm for the next day with full enthusiasm and commitment that I will wake up on time. I make plans that after waking up, I will do this. I will do that. The next morning, when the alarm clock rang, I immediately switched it off. At that point in time, I feel like I need to sleep a little more; I haven’t slept enough. I snooze the alarm, thinking that I will wake up in 15–20 minutes, but I sleep for the next 2–3 hours, and I wake up late as usual. It’s like a loop.
I feel like the reason it happens is that I forgot to do one of the most important things, which is sleeping early in the night before. I keep watching videos on my phone. I keep procrastinating. I fail to fall asleep early, which makes it too difficult for me to wake up early the next day. The reason I give to myself for sleeping late is that even if I sleep for fewer hours, I will manage to wake early, but it does not happen because the body needs proper rest.
Time kept slipping away. What began as days quickly became weeks, then months, and even years. This ongoing struggle comes from my procrastination and laziness, both of which waste valuable time and make life much more difficult.
So, for waking up early in the morning, it is ideal to sleep early too. Not following a proper sleep schedule is the biggest culprit of this habit of snoozing the alarm. So, my dearest alarm clock, please read this open letter so that we are aligned, and we can be friends!
