Are We in Space Already, or Not?

George Weeks has posted a YouTube video of Neil Degrasse Tyson explaining why Silicon Valley’s research into space travel and placing colonists on Mars is doomed to failure. I’m a fan of Dr. Tyson. I respect him.

Confusingly, it states on the upper left corner of the video, “Altered or synthetic content.” What does that mean? Did Dr. Tyson not really record this? Are these not really his words? Or does it just refer to the printed text that accompanies them? It’s difficult to know the truth of anything, these days.

Here’s my biggest issue, though, with the video.

A few years ago I was a fan of a fascinating series on the GAIA channel, Cosmic Disclosure. I was convinced by the seemingly credible, seemingly sincere, seemingly real-life men who joined the discussion that our military has been interacting with aliens for years and actually sending ships of our own, piloted by American personnel, to other planets.

Of course, these guys could be professional character actors specially picked for their solid, “Everyman” qualities and their talent for being convincing. But I would have expected some sort of printed disclaimer in the show’s credits if it were a fictional production — and I could never find such a disclaimer. They were supposedly ex-military who had worked personally with alien visitors. The descriptions they give are extremely detailed. The program is available for viewing on your TV or computer.

I was also convinced by other shows about ET contact, such as the CE5 Experience of Dr. Steven Greer.

My issue is — if their testimony is true, there would be no point in Elon Musk, Space X and Silicon Valley pouring billions of of dollars into space research. I mean — if travel is already being accomplished on a regular basis!

The opposite point, of course, is that if Dr. Tyson is right in stating that radiation and other factors doom space colonies to failure — then Cosmic Disclosure on the GAIA chanel must be an incredible hoax.

Then again, if it is not a hoax, then we cannot trust Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson.

Or maybe — just maybe — the issue of colonizing a dead planet with no atmosphere, such as Mars, is different from our military’s using the assistance of alien technology to fly crews to other planets which have atmospheres, magnetic fields and thriving civilizations. In which case, both parties are telling their side of the truth.

I can’t be the only person wondering about this. Will somebody out there please try to find some answers that I have not been able to?
