Friday November 15 saw the finals of NJPW TAMASHII’s inaugural Oceania Cup in Auckland New Zealand. Jack Bonza emerged victorious to be the first to capture the prize and represent TAMASHII as the best in the Oceania region.

With semifinal and final matches on the same night, Bonza wrestled twice on the evening, and had a difficult draw in his semifinal matchup. Having to face his Rogue Army partner and formidable super heavyweight Bad Luck Fale, Bonza had to get in and out quickly, and did so with a schoolboy in under three minutes.

On the other side of the bracket, Punch Drunk Istria had a harder, six minute fight with Jake Taylor, but a straight armbar saw him punch his ticket to the final.

That led the two to the main event. Istria survived a devastating apron piledriver to apply the Fujiwara armbar on Bonza, but the Rogue Army member was able to prevail, and the Steiner Screwdriver brought the victory and the trophy, presented by special guest Jado who was in attendance for the evening.

The event was also marked with the return to TAMASHII for HENARE, who represented United Empire as one half of the new IWGP Tag Team Champions opposite Andrew Villalobos. HENARE had his hand raised after a Rampage tackle as winning form continued into World Tag League this week.
