A certain smell

I have a very sensitive noise, I discovered it three years ago, it picks up distinct smells like people would pick up pokemon. I used to look forward to a very interesting smell when I was in my country, it was the smell that mapped out my sensitive nose. The after smell of a heavy rain, at first I thought it was the wet grass but it also came in the dry periods, a smell I can’t explain. I frantically remember humming down a tree line in my secondary school when I first noticed that smell, that day I think I was happy, maybe I finally got something, I had friends too. It came like this, it stuck with the smells and the energy, I forget the memories but the energy sticks. I think that smell would hunt me forever, always looking forward to having an early morning tea and looking greedy towards the sky
