The Eddine family lost their apartment on May 26th. A fire spread through their home so quickly that a 9-year-old ended up in a hospital bed, and by the time it was over, there was nothing left to return to.

They had no spare clothes, no documents, and no place to sleep that night. They faced the immediate, overwhelming challenge of figuring out what to do next, without any idea where to start.

Such a loss doesn’t announce itself with drama; it simply arrives and suddenly every ordinary problem you once had feels like a luxury you didn’t appreciate.

The Eddine family could have easily become lost in the gap between the fire and what comes next. This gap is where many families remain — waiting for an investigation, waiting for assistance, waiting for something to change. However, the community of Mount Healthy would not let that happen.
