I finished reading Monstress, and I honestly loved it. My boyfriend surprised me by buying it for me, which completely shocked me and made me really happy.
Monstress by Marjorie Liu is such a dark and beautiful fantasy comic. It follows Maika Halfwolf, a young woman in a war-torn world who is bonded to a powerful and dangerous monster inside her. As she searches for answers about her past and her mother’s death, she gets caught in a brutal conflict between humans and magical hybrid beings called Arcanics.
The worldbuilding and artwork were incredible, and I really loved the darker themes. Safe to say, I definitely want to read the whole series .
