If I Were Casting K-Pop Idols: A Korean Writer’s Picks (3)DANG HONG HAI

Hello✨ I’m a broadcast content writer in Korea, and I’ve also been a K-pop fan.

Because of this background, whenever I watch K-pop artists, I naturally view them from two perspectives: as a fan and as a writer.

Questions like, “What kind of show would they excel in?” “What kind of energy do they bring on camera?” “Would they adapt well to filming overseas?” come to mind.

Naturally, I’d love to cast them in aproject of my own, but more than that, I want to see them succeed on larger global stages. So I’ve decided to start documenting my personal casting recommendations, a series where I introduce artists I’d personally choose to work with.

Why He Stands Out to Me

Dang Hong Hai came to Korea with the dream of becoming an artist. He trained under several Korean entertainment agencies and continued to challenge himself by participating in multiple audition programs. Fluent in Vietnamese, Korean, English, and Chinese, he impressed viewers by naturally communicating with fellow contestants in different languages.

Having recently returned to Vietnam and signed with a new Vietnamese agency, he is now expected to pursue activities not only in Korea but also on the global stage.

He has the perseverance and passion to keep chasing his dream without giving up, and he always expresses his gratitude to his fans.

Creative Casting Concept

If I were producing a show with Dang Hong Hai, I would create a radio or podcast program that makes the most of his multilingual abilities. Because he is quick on his feet, I think he would make an excellent host.

Through his appearances on audition programs, he has likely built friendships with many fellow trainees. Because of this, I would also like to create a program where he can appear alongside the colleagues he is close to. I think a casual daily vlog featuring him spending time with his friends would also be a great fit.
