Belmawa Team Visits PPK Ormawa HMM FT Unud, Applauds Community Empowerment through the TOGA Program

Belmawa Visit to Gunaksa Village, Klungkung, Bali

Indonesia, November 3, 2025 — The visitation of the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, to the Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK Ormawa) implemented by the Mechanical Engineering Student Association, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University (HMM FT Unud), took place on Monday (3/11) in Gunaksa Village, Klungkung Regency, Bali, Indonesia. The event was attended by more than 200 participants representing government agencies, university officials, and local communities.

Among those present were the Head of the Klungkung Regency Office of Food Security and Fisheries, the Head of the Klungkung Regency Office of Community and Village Empowerment, representatives from the Belmawa Visitor Team, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs of Udayana University, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Engineering, the Chair and Secretary of the University Center for Community Service (UPKP Unud), the Head of Gunaksa Village, the Bendesa Adat (traditional village leader), and members of the local community involved in the program.

The visitation served as part of the monitoring and field validation process for the PPK Ormawa program, which has been running since July 2025. Initiated by HMM FT Unud, the program focuses on community empowerment through Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA), or Family Medicinal Plants, by developing productive home gardens, creating value-added herbal products, and promoting the use of traditional medicine based on local plant resources.

The event began with a warm welcome from the implementing team and the local residents, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and collaboration. In his remarks, the Head of the Klungkung Regency Office of Food Security and Fisheries expressed appreciation for the students’ dedication in enhancing the local potential of Gunaksa Village through an innovative and sustainable approach.

Following the opening session, the Belmawa Visitor Team conducted on-site visits to several program locations, including the homes of ASMAN TOGA members, Kedai Meramu — a local shop serving as the center for TOGA-based product marketing and traditional healers who actively collaborate in utilizing herbal plants for community health.

This visitation also represents recognition of Udayana University students’ success in implementing a program that aligns with the core objectives of PPK Ormawa strengthening student organizational capacity while creating tangible community impact and supporting sustainable village development.
