Free Range Egg Settlement: Claim $2 Per Carton Before the Deadline Tonight

A new $287,500 class action settlement has been reached over claims that Alderfer Family Farm and Alderfer Poultry Farm falsely advertised certain eggs as being produced by free-roaming hens. Consumers across the United States who purchased these eggs may be eligible for a payout.

What Is the Case About?

The lawsuit alleged that Alderfer labeled certain non-organic eggs as “free roaming” when they were not. Plaintiffs argued that this violated New York consumer protection laws. Alderfer denies wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case to avoid further litigation.

How Much Money Can You Get?

Eligible consumers can receive $2.00 per carton of eggs. Depending on the number of claims filed, payments may increase to $3.00 per carton. The settlement will be distributed on a pro rata basis, meaning the final payout depends on how many claims are submitted.

• With proof of purchase: Claim more than 2 cartons.
• Without proof of purchase: You can still claim up to 2 cartons by signing a declaration under penalty of perjury.

Who Qualifies?

Anyone in the United States who purchased Alderfer non-organic eggs for personal or household use between December 1, 2020 and the date of Final Approval is eligible. Exceptions apply to people who already received a full refund or opted out of the settlement.
