Called Or Chosen

“Many are called, but few are chosen.”

These words, simple yet profound, resound like a bell throughout all the corridors of human spiritual development. They are words which pierce, words which confront the spirit and demand an answer. They are neither poetic symbolism nor philosophical musing. They are Law. They are the expression of a spiritual reality that has long been misunderstood, distorted, or ignored altogether.

To be called is not a merit. It is a grace. It is the consequence of the Divine Will radiating through Creation, summoning every human spirit at the proper hour, according to the maturity it has acquired through the wanderings and experiences of existence. The call is universal and yet personal. It resounds through the inner being, often as a deep longing, a subtle stirring, or an unshakable discontent with all that is transitory. It is the awakening of the spirit from the slumber of indolence.

But to be chosen — ah! This lies not in the calling but in the response. And therein lies the great gulf, the decisive distinction. For being chosen is not a random selection nor the result of favoritism on the part of the Creator. No! It is the direct and just consequence of the unwavering, pure, and faithful response of the human spirit to the call.

The chosen ones are those who have heard the call and taken up the task. Not with words alone, but through deeds, through transformation, through the striving to live in the Laws of God with unwavering earnestness. It is not enough to feel a stirring. It is not enough to speak of spiritual matters. It is not even enough to desire the Light. The path to becoming chosen lies in the complete surrender of the ego, in the crushing of all complacency, in the unrelenting battle against one’s own impurities.

Thus, many are called, because the call is sent forth broadly, generously, out of Divine Love and Grace. But few are chosen because few respond with the depth, the seriousness, and the constancy that is required. Most hear the call and hesitate. Others begin to walk the path but grow weary at the first tribulation. Still others cloak themselves in the garments of spiritual arrogance, believing themselves chosen while their fruits are rotten.

The call alone does not guarantee salvation. The choice is made by the spirit itself, in cooperation with the Divine Will, by making itself suitable, pure, and ready. And this readiness is no abstract state. It is demonstrated in every decision, every thought, every action that aligns with the Light.

Woe to those who parade themselves as chosen! Who proclaim their calling with pride and use it as a banner to elevate themselves above others. They prove by their very attitude that they are still bound by self-will, still entangled in the delusion of the intellect. The truly chosen will never call themselves thus. They will not boast. Their lives will be the proof. Their humility, clarity, and luminous deeds will testify to their worthiness.

And yet the grace of the call continues. It does not cease. Even now, as darkness thickens and confusion spreads among humanity, the call resounds more urgently than ever before. But fewer and fewer spirits are still capable of hearing it. Their inner hearing has been dulled by years, perhaps lifetimes, of spiritual neglect. They have buried the longing beneath the rubble of materialism, cynicism, and intellectual arrogance.

To be chosen is to be ready to serve. It is to stand firm when others falter. It is to radiate light in the densest darkness, not for recognition or reward, but because one’s inner being can do nothing else. It is the fruit of loyalty, of surrender, of purity. And these fruits can only ripen in a soul that lives in the truth, that allows the Laws of God to be the guiding measure in all things.

How many times has the call come to you, O man, and you brushed it aside? You felt the inner nudge, the discomfort at your own emptiness, and you dulled it with distractions. You heard the voice in silence, and you ran to noise. You were invited into the garden of the spirit, and you chose the marketplace of vanity. And still you ask why you are not among the chosen?

The path of the chosen is the path of sacrifice — of all that is base, all that is impure, all that is egotistical. It is not an easy path, but it is a joyous one for those whose spirits are alive. Every trial is a purification. Every hardship a means to freedom. But only the genuine seeker, who places truth above all else, who does not shrink from self-confrontation, will be able to endure.

To be chosen is to be a vessel of the Light. Not merely in thought, but in being. To become such a vessel, you must cleanse yourself from all that obstructs the Light from flowing through you. The chosen are those whose inner being vibrates in harmony with the Will of God. They are like clear channels, through which the Power of the Creator can flow without obstruction.

This is why the chosen are few. Not because God is stingy, but because man is lazy. Because man has forsaken the inner work for outer comforts. Because man prefers the broad path of opinion over the narrow road of truth.

And yet, there is still time. The call has not ceased. If you, O reader, feel it now, in this very moment, then do not delay. Respond! Begin the path of inner purification. Seek the Light in all sincerity. Cast away your false selves, your masks, your excuses. Live in such a way that you may be made worthy to be chosen — not by title, not by declaration, but by transformation.

The Kingdom of God belongs not to those who speak of it, but to those who live it. And living it begins with obedience to the Laws that govern all of Creation. In this obedience lies the secret of being chosen.

So strive! Strive with all the strength of your spirit! Rise up from the ashes of indolence and take your place among the living. Let your life be the answer to the call. Let your deeds be your prayer. Let your soul be a beacon for others.

Then and only then will you find yourself among the chosen. Not because you declared it, but because your spirit, through its unwavering loyalty to the Light, could not be left behind.

But let this also be understood clearly: the calling is a summons to service, not to exaltation. It is not a title to carry, but a duty to fulfill. The chosen are not spared the storms of life; they are placed in the very midst of them, as bearers of light. Their strength is forged in adversity, and their joy lies in obedience.

This sacred responsibility cannot be approached half-heartedly. It demands the whole being. Those who are chosen are those who give all. They live the truth not in words, but in the integrity of their soul’s expression, and in this they stand firm, radiating the Light which alone can guide others out of darkness.

Thus shall the chosen be known — not by name or acclaim, but by the unmistakable vibration of spirit in harmony with the Divine. And so it shall be until the end of days, when all that is false falls away, and only the true remain to build anew in the Light of God.
