Church videographers, will you truly make Heaven?!?

Does this sound harsh? No apologies, but you are playing with a very dangerous thing.

Thank you big time for your hard work in getting the Word of God to countless people, with such precision and sometimes timeliness. But please, please, who told you it was acceptable to film people in their intimate moments with God? When was this added to the “Scope of Work”?!

Why is pornography viewed in secret? Is it not because it recognises (yet rebels against) the fact that lovemaking/sex is a private, hidden activity that sometimes reveals itself publicly in a pregnancy or childbirth?

If you have done something ‘lovely’ in secret with God, your intimacy will become evident, likely through your behaviour/character transformation. Something gives you away; who you have been with or where you have been. For instance, if you spend the night smoking tobacco or drinking alcohol, you would reek of something not so delicious.

Suffice to say, QUIT trying to catch church attendees in their vulnerable moments with the LORD; you are interfering with their relationship with God.

Several church media teams are so guilty of this; it is becoming alarming. It is not until you kidnap a fellow human being before we can view the horror of what is happening (and this does not take away from the seriousness of kidnap and abduction. May God deliver us all), but when you, under the guise of filming or recording a worship service, ‘abduct’ any worshipper’s intimacy/time with God, videographer, you are running a very serious risk.

Recently, in Abuja, during a blessed Sunday evening service, the notebook of a worshipper was filmed without blurring out what was being written. How on earth is that not a violation of privacy?

The alarm is rising!

Wake up. It is a dangerous path. Wake up. Please, wake up.
