Maybe Normal Isn’t Always Right

You know what is basic and common sense? Human rights.

Whenever the word feminism is mentioned, many people stop listening before even trying to understand it. Some assume women are going to blame men, and if a man speaks about it, people often think he is doing it for attention.

I am not saying this out of thin air. This is something I have observed for years through conversations, comments, reels, and social media discussions.

Feminism is a human rights movement. It is not against men. It is against patriarchy.

And to understand why feminism exists, we first need to understand what patriarchy actually is.

Patriarchy is a system that slowly became rooted within society over centuries. It blended itself into traditions, customs, and social structures in ways that gave men more power and authority over women.

Not every tradition is wrong. Many customs carry meaningful values, culture, love, and a sense of belonging. But there are also many practices where patriarchal thinking became so deeply hidden that people started treating inequality as something normal.

Over time, people stopped questioning these things because they were taught to see them as tradition rather than discrimination.

That does not mean today’s men are evil. In fact, men are also victims of this system in many ways. Patriarchy affects everyone.

Even many women support patriarchal ideas without realizing that they themselves are victims of the same system. That is how deeply normalized it has become.

When a woman questions these things, people quickly ask if she is a feminist, as if feminism automatically means being a misandrist. But feminism was never about hating men. It was always about questioning inequality.

The sad part is that content genuinely trying to educate people about feminism often never reaches the people who actually need to hear it. And even when it does, many refuse to engage with it.

Because when a system benefits you, or keeps you comfortable, challenging that system requires self reflection and discomfort. Most people choose comfort instead.

That does not always make them evil. But it does make them selfish.

At the end of the day, before gender, religion, caste, race, or class, every person is a human being.

And remember this:

Every person you interact with is someone’s precious child.

A child.

No matter how old they are now.
