Dinner and a Movie: Butter Chicken, Flat Bread, and Electric Dreams

While I had originally planned to make a casserole for dinner, I changed my mind and decided to make Butter Chicken and Flat Bread instead, which is way better than any casserole.

While the butter chicken is simmering in the crock pot, with jarred sauce because I want to make things easier, the flat bread will be made from scratch.

My current favorite flat bread recipe is as follows:

2/3 cup warm water

2/3 cup warm milk

2 tsp yeast

2 tsp sugar

Mix, cover, and let sit for ten minutes.

Add:

3 cups flour

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp olive oil

Knead for 2 minutes by hand in the bowl

Cover and let rise 1 hour

On a floured surface, form dough into 6 7-inch flat pieces, and fry either DRY or by basting each piece with a small amount of butter or olive oil. I prefer to baste them in oil, it tastes better.

You flip each piece when it starts to bubble up for the best results.

Electric Dreams

Tonight’s “movie” is Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, which is actually a series, not a movie.

But I plan to watch episodes 3 and 4, as I watched 1 and 2 a few days ago, and they were great. I love PKD and his stories about alternate universes and other science fiction themes.

I won’t go into detail because it would be too easy to give the plot twists away, but if you like sci-fi, you will love this show. It’s classic stuff.
