Places where emotions are manufactured. Part 3: Intamin

In this series, we take a look at geographical locations where emotions are constructed or manufactured in the form of attractions, roller coasters, etc. This is the time of Intamin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intamin

Intamin Amusement Rides is a design and manufacturing company in Schaan, Liechtenstein, best-known for designing and constructing thrill rides and roller coasters at dozens of international theme parks, amusement parks and other establishments. The Intamin brand name is a syllabic abbreviation for “international amusement installations”. The company has corporate offices across the world, including three in Europe, three in Asia, and two in the United States.

In addition to the information available on Wikipedia, Intamin doesn’t need any introduction among enthusiasts of amusement parks and roller coasters.

A brief search on Google Maps yields the following results, which we will investigate one by one.

  • Landstrasse 126, 9494 Schaan, Liechtenstein
  • Verenastrasse 37, 8832 Wollerau, Suiza
  • Bagsværd Hovedgade 141, 2880 Bagsværd, Dinamarca
  • Stadhoudersmolenweg 70, 7317 AW Apeldoorn, Países Bajos
  • Dierdorfer Str. 18, 56584 Rüscheid, Alemania
  • An d. Buschmühle 88, 44139 Dortmund, Alemania
  • 810 Cromwell Park Dr Suite L, Glen Burnie, MD 21061, Estados Unidos

From the air, we don’t see anything that resembles amusement structures or anything of particular interest. Interestingly, next to it, there is a patent attorney. We don’t know if they have any relationship or if it’s just a coincidence.

Unfortunately, Google Maps doesn’t have street-level images, only some photos of local businesses that are not related to what we are looking for. So, we must leave this location without finding anything.

From here, we travel to Switzerland to see if we have better luck.

In this location, we only find a building that appears to be an office. Perhaps it could house some kind of workshop or factory inside, but we don’t find any more clues other than the logo at its entrance.

Its time of Denmark

In this situation, we only see residential buildings and some commercial ones. It seems to be a quiet neighborhood with low-rise buildings, but we don’t see any industry or offices with logos that we can distinguish. We’re not having much luck finding juicy images of Intamin’s facilities.

We are in the Netherlands, and this time we did find their corporate logos. Additionally, there seem to be trucks loaded with parts of attractions. Due to their striking colors, it appears to be materials from the company destined for an amusement park or fair.

A zoomed-in look gives us more detail. They do appear to be portable amusement rides typical of fairs, with ticket booths and electrical boxes discernible.

This location in Germany does seem to be a larger industrial area where these types of attractions could be manufactured. Let’s investigate to see if we have better luck.

From the ground, we can see a field where some material is accumulated, near their corporate sign.

It’s a very large compound with various buildings. Here, it seems that offices can be combined with production areas. Additionally, it’s protected by vegetation barriers and fences, which guard the company’s privacy very well. It’s almost impossible to see anything.

We continue without success.

With Intamin, we haven’t had the luck we had with the previous posts. We’ll leave it here without success.
