The Warning: Questions for the Generals

Tonight, America’s entire senior military leadership is summoned to Quantico.

No reason given. No agenda published. Just an order to appear. All of them. Every starched uniform. Every starched ego.

This is either a logistical marvel, a coup rehearsal, or Pete Hegseth finally found a Groupon for a group makeover at the Fox & Friends hair-gel bar.

Jenny, his third wife, designed the room. She is known in Pentagon gossip as “Yoko Ono with a curling iron.” She goes everywhere with Pete — to make sure his shirt is tucked in and his mouth is not suctioned to an open bottle of Korbel.

Pete is always watching. Pete is Champagne on the Wall.

The Questions

Can you imagine Seal Team 6 breaching the makeup room?

Can you imagine four-star generals saluting a man whose idea of valor is winning a Fox News chili cook-off?

Can you imagine professional warriors forced to rise for the entrance of Secretary Pete and his sidekick, General Caine, Chairman of the Trump Force?

How many ambitious generals are fingering their MAGA selfies in the hope of a promotion? How many nod gravely when Pete’s extremist pastor declares that gardeners, teenagers, and the father of three Marines are the real enemies? How many ICE superheroes are polishing their aviators to prove soldiers are weak, but border cops are strong?

The Absurdity

The oaths are old:

  • Army: “This We’ll Defend.”
  • Navy: “Honor, Courage, Commitment.”
  • Marines: “Semper Fidelis.”
  • Air Force: “Aim High.”

But now the Trumpian motto hovers: “He is the Nation.”

The generals know. They all know. They know Trump mocked POWs, disdained the dead, and is a convicted felon. They know Pete is a dipstick with tattoos, paranoia, and the judgment of a man trying to pass the bar exam at Dave & Buster’s.

And yet: here they are. In Quantico. Obeying the summons.

The Real Question

What happens when the unlawful order comes down?

Do they salute? Do they nod gravely, like Tim Cook at a product launch? Do they fold like Shari Redstone’s last quarterly report? Do they laugh nervously, like Lindsey Graham caught between his conscience and a Mar-a-Lago buffet line?

Kristi Noem has already rehearsed the firing squad speech. Elon Musk has wept at the sight of ICE cosplay.

The wheel always turns. And when it does, generals, no one buys the “just following orders” defense.

Champagne Pete is still on the wall. The Republic, not so much.
