The Beautiful Lady GHOST Who Disappeared on a Moving Bike
A True Abuja Ghost Encounter
The night of 10 December, Abuja felt uneasy.
The harmattan breeze carried dust across empty streets, and the air at NNPC Junction was unusually cold for that hour. Most okada riders had packed up for the day, but Ibrahim, a man known for working late to feed his wife and two daughters, decided to do “one last trip.”
He would regret it.
Chapter 1
The Beautiful Stranger
It was a little past 9:15 p.m. when he parked near the curb at NNPC Junction, waiting. Streetlights flickered weakly. Traffic was thin. Then she appeared.
A lady; young, beautiful, dressed in a long black gown, her hair flowing gently as if blown by a breeze that wasn’t there. She walked slowly, gracefully, not like someone in haste, but like someone who had all the time in the world.
“Okada, please… can you take me to Wuse Market?” her voice was soft, too soft.
Ibrahim nodded. Work was work. She climbed the bike gently, her perfume sweet but faintly cold, like early morning dew on a gravestone.
“Let’s go,” she whispered.
Chapter 2
The Silent Ride
As they sped into the night, something bothered Ibrahim. She hadn’t given him a price. She hadn’t even held his shoulder for balance. She simply sat still, almost too still, like someone floating behind him.
Whenever he passed under a streetlight, her shadow didn’t fall correctly. Sometimes there was no shadow at all.
But he shook it off. Hunger can create imagination, he told himself.
By the time they passed the Total Filling Station, the road was quieter. Only a few cars hurried by. The bridge ahead was dim, streetlights half-dead.
“Hope she’s still there,” he muttered.
Just joking with himself.
Chapter 3
The Vanishing
He slowed slightly as they climbed the bridge. Something felt off; the air suddenly colder, almost freezing. His breath turned faintly white in the air.
Out of instinct, he looked back.
The seat was empty.
The lady… was gone.
Not dropped. Not jumped. Not screamed. Gone.
Disappeared… like smoke.
He slammed the brakes, tires screeching. “Allah ya raba! Allah ya raba!!” he shouted as he stumbled off the bike.
No one in sight. No footsteps. No running shadow. No scream. No trace.
Only the distant hum of passing cars.
He ran around in circles, calling out, “Madam! Madam!!” No answer.
His heartbeat thinned, his breaths shallow. The world spun.
Then he collapsed.
Chapter 4
The Hospital
Drivers who saw him fall stopped and rushed him to Wuse General Hospital. The nurses said his pulse was racing like someone who had seen death.
When he finally regained consciousness, trembling and sweating, the first thing he said was:
“Where is the lady? The lady I carried?” The nurses exchanged confused glances.
“There was no lady.”
Ibrahim screamed.
He explained everything; from the beautiful woman, to the perfume, to the icy ride, to the empty motorcycle. People gathered around his bed, making the sign of the cross, whispering bismillah, shaking their heads.
The doctors called it trauma-induced shock.
But the okada riders who came to visit him said something else:
“That girl… fits the description of the woman who died crossing that same bridge last month.”
Chapter 5
The Legend Begins
Since that night, riders around NNPC Junction say a young lady sometimes appears under the flickering streetlight, asking for a ride to Wuse.
Those who say no watch her vanish into thin air. Those who say yes… never reach the bridge before she disappears.
As for Ibrahim, he swears he will never work after sunset again. He now warns every rider he sees:
“If a beautiful lady in black stops you at night… don’t carry her. She is not alive.”
And so, Abuja whispers a new legend.
The Ghost of Wuse Bridge. A soul still searching for a home, or still reliving the moment of her death, trying to reach a destination she never arrived.
